RIVERSIDE – A Riverside man and Apple Valley woman were arrested for weapons violations on Tuesday evening. At around 6:00 p.m. Riverside police were dispatched to the 4400 block of Daniel Drive regarding subjects in a vehicle who the reporting party believed were selling drugs. When officers arrived they approached the suspects and noticed a male was holding something that looked like a handgun. They ordered him to drop the item, which police said turned out to be a handgun shaped flashlight.
The officer pat the subject down and located a handgun in his pocket. The subject was found to be on felony probation for weapon and narcotic violations. The subject, as well as another male and two females also were detained. The vehicle, that belonged to one of the female subjects, was searched and an additional handgun was found. Following the investigation, Christian Morales, 20, from Riverside and Delia Mendoza, 23, of Apple Valley, were arrested and booked into jail for weapons and probation violations.
