SOUTH LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A South L.A. man was inside his home when two men entered his home and attacked him, his brother intervened, stabbing one of the suspects who later died, police said.
On Saturday, June 29, 2019, at around 11:20 a.m., a male subject was inside his home when two suspects, a 20-25 year old Black man, a 23-25 year old Black man, and a 23-25 year old Hispanic man entered his home. The three began to physically attack the victim, punching and kicking him all over his body. The victim’s brother was outside of the home, went into the home and attempted to stop the assault. He then grabbed a knife and stabbed the Hispanic man in the upper torso numerous times to stop him. All three of the suspects fled the location in a vehicle.
The victims called 911 to report the burglary that had just occurred. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the home in the 1100 block of East 91st Street. A stop was conducted on the vehicle and detained one of the Black male suspects and the Hispanic suspect. The Hispanic male suspect was suffering from stab wounds. He was treated at the scene and subsequently transported to the hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.
The initial victim from the assault and burglary was also transported to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition. There is no known motive at this time, and the investigation is still on-going.
