LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Los Angeles Police Department announced on Saturday, the murder of a LAPD officier.
At around 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2019, a LAPD motorcycle officer was flagged down by someone reporting a shooting near Avenue 26 and Humboldt Street. The officer found the two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Through investigation it was learned that one of the two victims was off-duty LAPD Officer Juan Diaz. No additional information is being released, as the shooting remains under investigation at this time.
“Officer Diaz was a dedicated public servant and Angeleno that put service to others above all else,” LAPD officials said. “The void his loss leaves within our ranks will not soon be filled.”
