HESPERIA – Three Hesperia residents were arrested following a Probation compliance check on Tuesday afternoon officials said. Hesperia station deputies and the San Bernardino County Probation office arrived at the home in the 16200 block of Juniper Street in the City of Hesperia at around 3:40 p.m.
While there, probation officers located a loaded handgun at the residence. After further investigation, a loaded handgun, a shotgun, a rifle, ammunition, and methamphetamine were all recovered from the home. All three suspects, 23-year-old Ruben Anthony Mendez, 49-year-old Vincent Cordova Mendez, and 43-year-old Sergio Marcial were according to authorities “known gang members or associates”.
The three were arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center. Ruben Mendez, who was out on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) was arrested for use of a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, prohibited from owning ammunition and violation of probation. Vincent Mendez and Sergio Marcial were booked for the possession of a controlled substance. Marcial was also booked on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
Ruben Mendez remains at the High Desert Detention Center and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Thursday afternoon. Vincent Mendez and Marcial were cited and released Wednesday morning.
