CORONA – Two men are dead after a murder-suicide in the City of Corona on the afternoon on Monday, June 18, 2018. At around 3:27 p.m. the Corona Police Department responded to a home in the 400 block of Roosevelt Street regarding a “shots fired” call. The reporting party said that gunshots were fired inside the home. When officers arrived they located two men dead inside the home. Through investigation, they learned that Gregory Donald Franklin Jr., 41, of Corona, shot his father-in-law, Edgar Morris Jones, 73, of Corona after a family dispute.
Franklin was asked to leave the home but returned with a handgun. He went into the home and shot Jones multiple times, then turned the gun on himself taking his own life.
