CORONA – The Corona Police Aircrew rescued a hiker from the Skyline Trail, above the City of Corona on Tuesday afternoon.
At around noon the hiker called 911 when he started to experience chest pains. The helicopter responded to the call with a Riverside Police Pilot and a Tactical Flight Officer on board. Using the information provided by the hiker, he was quickly located on the hiking trail.
Due to the fact that they needed to get to the hiker quickly, the crew decided to land the helicopter in order to transport the victim off of the mountain using the helicopter. They flew the victim to the Corona Airport where the Corona Fire and AMR were waiting to transport the hiker who they later learned had suffered a heart attack.
