COVINA, Calif. – A 39-year-old Covina mother was charged with the murder of her toddler son today.
On January 11, 2019, Xa Dinh Ngo, a.k.a. Michelle Ngo, allegedly stabbed her 2-year-old son multiple times in their townhome located in the 100 block of Italia Street. The small child died as a result of the stabbing. Authorities said that Ngo was located running down the 300 block of Second Avenue at around 3:20 a.m. with blood on her body and clothing. Although Ngo attempted to run from responding officers, she was quickly detained.
As part of the investigation, officers responded to Ngo’s townhouse where they found her son deceased. Ngo now faces charges including one count of murder with a special allegation that she personally used a deadly weapon and dangerous weapon, knife DA officials said. She is being held in lieu of $2 million bail. If convicted as charged, she faces 26-years-to-life in state prison.
