VICTORVILLE – A 25-year-old Victorville man lost his life as a result of a traffic collision on La Paz Drive and Avalon Avenue on Sunday morning. At around 4:49 a.m. deputies from the Victorville Station and emergency medical personnel responded to the intersection for the report of a two vehicle traffic collision.
When deputies arrived they determined that that the Honda Accord, driven by Guillermo Barragan was driving north on La Paz Drive when he lost control just past Avalon Avenue. The Honda struck an unoccupied parked Ford Fusion pushing it forward 100 feet, coming to a stop in a yard. Barragan was the only occupant in the vehicle, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene to investigate in order to determine the cause of the collision. The road was closed on La Paz Drive from Avalon to La Paz Court until around 10:30 a.m.
