CAJON PASS – The San Bernardino Fire Department responded to a vehicle approximately 150’ off of the side of the I-15 just south of Cleghorn late Saturday morning. Just before 10:00 a.m. firefighter responded to the traffic collision and determined that there were four patients in the blue pickup truck that went off the roadway and down the steep hillside.
Several firefighters prepared the appropriate equipment needed to safely rescue the patients and made their way down the hill to rescue the patients. County Fire Spokesman, Jared Newcomer told a 24/7 Headline reporter that of the four patients, one was critical and the other three suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
All patients were successfully rescued and transported to Loma Linda University Hospital by ground ambulance. The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
