HELENDALE – A Helendale man was arrested for attempted murder following a shooting in the 35000 block of Indian Trail in Helendale on Wednesday evening.
At around 5:15 p.m. a 911 call came in alerting deputies to the shooting. When they arrived, deputies from the Victor Valley and Barstow Stations learned that the victim left the location. It was later learned that the victim went to Victor Valley Global Hospital in Victorville and was then airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The victim remains in stable condition.
The investigation revealed that the victim entered 32-year-old Cory David Bowman’s home, while visiting someone, and was shot by Bowman with a .22 caliber handgun. Bowman was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for attempted murder and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
