HELENDALE – A 31-year-old Helendale man was arrested on Thursday after making criminal threats at the Helendale Elementary School on two occasions. The arrest of Jason Walker was made at around 4:25 p.m. after school staff found proof of the threats.
The first incident took place on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, when documents referencing war were found at the school. On Wednesday, April 5, 2017, additional documents containing written threats were found at the school. The following day, Walker went to the school officer and deputies were called. Walker was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for criminal threats and is being held in lieu of $300,000 bail.
