SILVER LAKES – A 26-year-old Helendale man was arrested for being in possession of a methamphetamine pipe and burglary tools on Monday, officials said. Charles William Griffin was walking near Vista Road and Lakeview Drive in Silver Lakes at around 12:05 a.m. when a Victor Valley Station deputy made contact with him.
According to the news release, Griffin was wearing camouflage clothing, black gloves and was carrying a backpack flashlight. Griffin was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. He was also found to have tools commonly used for burglary in his backpack and the methamphetamine pipe in his pants pocket.
Griffin was arrested and transported to the High Desert Detention Center where he was cited and released. Griffin has no court appearances scheduled at this time. Griffin has an extensive criminal history which includes vehicle theft and drug-related convictions, according to court records.
