VICTORVILLE – A 39-year-old convicted felon was arrested for the possession of a firearm, high capacity magazine and narcotics on Thursday.
At around 4:26 p.m. deputies from the Victorville Police Department’s Gang Team, attempted to make contact with Jason Rockhold at a motel in the 16900 block of Stoddard Wells Road reference the possible possession of a firearm, a violation of his parole.When they arrived they found Rockhold outside of the motel room. The deputies identified themselves as Sheriff’s Deputies and Rockhold ran into the motel room. Shortly after, he exited the motel room and ran from deputies, leading them on a short foot pursuit to the front of the property, where he was detained.
Deputies searched the motel room and located a fully automatic assault weapon, loaded with a high capacity magazine, approximately 14 grams of methamphetamine and prescription medication not prescribed to Rockhold. Rockhold was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for for possession of a controlled substance while armed and felon in possession of a firearm. After review of the case by the District Attorney’s Office, charges for possession of an assault weapon and receiving a large capacity magazine were also filed.
