ANAHEIM, CA. – A Hesperia man was arrested on Wednesday for a shooting that killed a Costa Mesa man.
At around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, police responded to the 2000 block of E. Via Burton Street for the report of a shooting. When they arrived they found Mathew David Rawson, 23, of Costa Mesa suffering from a gunshot wound. Rawson was rushed to the hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.
Through investigation it was determined that Gilbert Fred Falgo, 23, of Hesperia was believed to be the shooter. On Wednesday, December 23, 2020, Falgo was arrested at around 1:00 p.m. in Hesperia for murder. A handgun was recovered in Falgo’s possession.
Detectives are being tight lipped about any possible motive about this time.
