PLACENTIA, Ca. – A father and his two children are deceased following a murder-suicide in the City of Placentia.
Timothy Takehara, 41, took his own life after stabbing his 9-year-old twin daughters Wednesday, October 8, 2020. Placentia Police were dispatched to the home in the 400 block of Swanson Avenue at around 12:38 p.m. after the mother of the children called 911. The mother reported that her two daughters had been stabbed by their father. The third graders were pronounced dead at the scene.
The attack on the children occurred as their mother and Takehara’s mother were asleep in the home. When police arrived Timothy Takehara was found lying deceased in the grass in the front yard across the street from home.
At this time the motive is unknown. Anyone with information about the case should call the placenta police at 714-993-8164.
