VICTORVILLE – Do you have sensitive papers to shred? Need to prepare for your spring garden? You are in luck! High Desert residents are invited to attending the Shred Fest and Mulch Giveaway of 2017 at the Victor Valley Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) on Saturday, February 4, 2017, from 8 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Bring up to 4 banker boxes full of paper documents to be shredded to the Victor Valley MRF, located at 17000 Abbey Lane in the City of Victorville. The MRF is located just off of Stoddard Wells Road.
This no-cost event is open to all High Desert residents. An All Purpose Document Destruction will have a truck on site, where residents can see their documents get shredded. No business materials will be permitted, this is for households only. For those preparing for their spring garden, there is a free mulch and compost giveaway where those interested can pick up, up to 50 gallons of mulch. This is self-serve, so residents should bring their own shovels and containers to transport their mulch.
While you are there, drop off your unwanted tvs. Computers, Appliances, Mattresses/Box Springs at the “Recycle Alley” drop-off area. This is also free for area residents. The Victor Valley MRF serves the processing center for recyclables from Apple Valley and Victorville. Businesses and residents are also able to bring your recyclables for CRV buyback. It is regularly open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
