Several Hunt’s Chili Kits have been voluntarily recalled as a result of the potential presence of Salmonella in the chili seasoning packet contained in the kit. Congra Brands Inc. has issued the recall out of an abundance of caution since no reported adverse reactions or injuries have been reported to date.
The supplier informed the company of the potentially present Salmonella in a raw material used in the chili seasoning. No Salmonella was found in the finished products supplied by Conagra Brands.
Salmonella is a dangerous bacterium that may cause diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramping. Although most patients recover without treatment, some may be so severe that the patient may require hospitalization. The elderly, infants, and anyone with impaired immune systems will be more likely to have severe illness.
The product affected in the recall was distributed in retail stores, military commissaries, and online nationwide. Those impacted by the recall are listed below.
