VACAVILLE– A 29-year-old minimum-security state prison inmate walked away from the minimum support facility at the California Medical Facility (CMF) in Vacaville on Monday. Jarvis Brown, who was serving a three-year sentence for evading a peace officer while driving recklessly was reported missing on October 17th at 12:30 a.m. during an institutional count. Brown was last seen in his bunk at around 11:30 p.m., approximately an hour before he was noticed missing.
CMF officials immediately notified local law enforcement agencies, who immediately began searching for Brown. Brown is described as a black man with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5’9” tall and weighs 165 pounds.
Anyone who sees Brown or knows where he is should immediately call 911. California Department of Correction and Rehabilitation officials said that since 1977, 99 percent of all offenders who have left an adult institution, camp or community-based program without permission have been apprehended.
