WILDOMAR – A 35-year-old Corona-area transient was arrested for commercial burglary during a police patrol on Monday. At around 12:45 a.m. police witnessed a man, later identified as Casey Everette Whitley jump over a fence from a restricted area in a business complex in the 32000 block of Clinton Keith Road. After jumping the fence Whitley ran and the officer pursued him. Soon after, the officer was able to detain him for trespassing.
Additional officers from the Wildomar police department arrived to check the location. During the check, a broken window was located near where Whitley was seen. Through further investigation it was learned that the window was broken so that a laptop computer, which Whitley was in possession of, could be stolen. Whitley was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance.
