RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – A Corona man was arrested after leading deputies on a pursuit of a stolen vehicle.
On Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at around 9:40 p.m., deputies located a vehicle that had been reported stolen. They attempted to stop the vehicle at Hermosa Avenue and 19th Street. The driver failed to stop and deputies pursued the vehicle south on Hermosa Avenue. Aviation assisted the deputies with the pursuit which continued through several red lights. The driver, Armando Cesena, 34, drove into the east parking lot of the American Career College. He left the vehicle and fled from the scene running across the lanes of the 10 freeway and into the Panda Inn Restaurant.
A perimeter was set up around the parking lot of the business. K9 Dare tracked Cesena’s scent to the front door of the restaurant. She also tracked his scent from the front to the rear doors of the restaurants, out the back doors, to some nearby bushes where he was found hiding. He was arrested and booked at the West Valley Detention Center and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
