TAFT, Ca. – A Kern County man was arrested for the theft of beehives, authorities said.
A lengthy investigation by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Rural Crime Investigation Unit led to video and photos of a possible suspect in multiple thefts of beehives. In addition, a vehicle description was obtained and was learned to belong to a Taft resident.
At around 2:40 p.m., on September 9, 2019, detectives served a search warrant at a home in the 500 block of Phillippine Street, where they located stolen property from the theft of the hives. Resident, Jose Martinez, 36, was arrested for Conspiracy, Grand Theft, and Possession of Stolen Property.
