YERMO – A 41-year-old Lancaster woman lost her life in a single-vehicle collision on Fort Irwin Road north of the 15 freeway on Monday morning. At around 6:10 a.m. Ivonne Iturralde was driving a Honda Civic southbound on Fort Irwin Road.
For reasons that remain under investigation, the vehicle carrying only Iturralde went out of control crossing onto the northbound lane of traffic and left the road at the east shoulder. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene.
Iturralde was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of her injuries. The collision remains under investigation by the CHP. The family of Iturralde has set up a Go Fund Me account in order to give her a proper memorial service and burial.
