LOS ANGELES – A 24-year-old teacher’s assistant may face up to 18 years in prison for sexually abusing a middle school student in November and December of this year.
Joshua Jacob Estrada, a special education teacher’s assistant was charged with six counts of lewd acts with the Griffith Middle School student. Estrada has remained behind bars since his Wednesday, December 7, 2016, arrest. He is being held in lieu of $600,000 bail.
If convicted, Estrada will be ordered to register as a sex offender for life. Los Angeles Unified School district parents were made aware of the incident and arrest. Estrada is due to appear back in court on Thursday, January 12, 2016.
