VICTORVILLE – A family is heartbroken about the sudden loss of 52-year-old Upland resident, Diane Brayford. At around 11:25 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2016, Brayford was driving northbound in a silver Toyota Tacoma when for reasons still under investigation, she lost control approximately ½ north of Bear Valley Road in the City of Victorville.
Just as she went into the southbound lane, a semi-truck with a trailer was traveling in that lane. Her vehicle slammed into the semi-truck causing major damage to her vehicle, leaving her trapped. When deputies arrived, they located the Brayford unresponsive. Brayford was extricated from the vehicle, transported to Desert Valley Hospital, and was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries. No other injuries were reported as a result of the collision. The male truck driver remained at the scene and coopered with the investigation.
A hard road closure remained on Highway 395 from Bear Valley Road from Dos Palmas to Bear Valley Road for several hours so that the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s M.A.I.T. could investigate.
