Lucerne Valley Man Arrested for Attempted Murder of His Father

LUCERNE VALLEY – A 35-year-old Lucerne Valley man was arrested on Saturday morning for the attempted murder of his father authorities said. At around 10:12 a.m. deputies from the Victor Valley Station responded to the home in the 9900 block of Verdugo Road for the report of an assault.

When the first responding deputy arrived, he made contact with the victim. suspect, Through investigation, it was learned that the suspect, Taylor Gregory Bishop had been threatening and assaulting his father for several days, at one point, choking the victim until he passed out.  He was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Just over an hour later, at 11:34 a.m. deputies received a call that the suspect was returning back to the residence. Deputies made contact with Bishop at the Lucerne Valley Market parking lot and was arrested without incident. He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for attempted murder and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
