Lucerne Valley Man Walks Into Garage to Find Burglary Suspect

LUCERNE VALLEY – A Lucerne Valley man went into the garage of his home located in the 9100 block of Cody Avenue Monday morning to find an unknown male suspect inside.

Startled by the resident entering the garage, the suspect got into a 1994 white Jeep and fled the location. The resident followed shooting out two of the tires on the Jeep as it continued eastbound on Mountain View Road. The reporting party said that the Jeep continued driving around as if the driver was lost. The suspect driver eventually stopped the Jeep at a home in the 23000 block of Sutter Road and fled on foot into a nearby desert area.

Victor Valley Station deputies determined that the Jeep was stolen during a Victorville commercial burglary. “The Jeep was stolen on December 8th from Mojave Auto Service in Victorville,” said Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station spokeswoman Pam Hoffman.

Victor Valley station ground units and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s helicopter — 40-king searched for the suspect to no avail. Hoffman said that they are still attempting to identify and locate the suspect as of Monday afternoon.
