VICTORVILLE, Ca. – A 20-year-old Victorville man was arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana after slamming his vehicle into a patrol vehicle on Sunday.
At around 10:22 p.m., deputies from the Victorville station were conducting an investigation into a non-injury hit and run traffic collision on Village Drive near Clovis Street. As the investigation concluded, Gabriel Valencia, according to Sheriff’s officials, drove westbound on Village Drive and failed to stop, causing him to collide into one of the two patrol vehicles at the scene with the lights activated. The patrol vehicle was not occupied at the time of the collision and no one was injured as a result.
During an investigation into the crash involving Mr. Valencia, it was determined that he was under the influence of marijuana. As a result, he was booked at the High Desert Detention Center for driving under the influence of drugs.
