COACHELLA – An 18-year-old man was arrested for burglarizing a local charter school located in the 52-700 block of Frederick Street in Coachella. The burglary was reported to the Coachella Police Department at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2016. The reporting party told authorities that multiple laptops were taken from a classroom.
Several days later on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, the Coachella Valley Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force (CVVCGTF) assumed the investigation. Officers from the CVVCGTF were able to identify Jacob Lujan as a suspect involved in the burglary. Lujan was located and arrested at a home in the 52500 block of Family Circle.
Officers were able to recover some of the stolen laptops as well as other stolen propery, officials said. Lujan was booked into the Indio jail for burglary. If you have any information about this crime or can identify the stolen property, please contact James at (760) 760-836-1720.
