HOLLYWOOD, Ca. – A man was sentenced on Friday to 27 years in prison for the 1987 killing of a 21-year-old man.
On June 29, 1987, Jade Maurice Clark was parked outside of a club on Highland Boulevard with a friend. He was approached by Pierre Romain, who is now 55-years-old (29-years-old at the time). Romain pointed a gun at Clark attempting to carjack him. Clark was also armed and shot Romain in the arm. Romain returned fire, killing Clark.
Romain was found guilty in August 2017 of first-degree murder, as well as the special allegation of using a gun during the crime. DNA recovered from the bullet tied Romain to the murder, Los Angeles District Attorney officials said.
