Man Shot and Killed By Stepfather During Victorville Birthday Party ID’d

VICTORVILLE – The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has provided an update regarding the shooting in the 13900 block of Palomino Court on Saturday evening.

Just before 7:40 p.m. deputies from the Victorville Station responded to the shots fired call. While enroute to the location the reporting party told dispatchers that a 76-year-old male, later identified as Ernesto Holguin, shot his own stepson.

Deputies surrounded the home, but they were quickly able to detain Holguin without further incident. Once Holguin was detained, the deputies quickly located the 45-year-old victim, Anthony Ledesma who was suffering from numerous gunshot wounds.

Medics from the San Bernardino County Fire Department arrived on scene and pronounced Ledesma deceased. Through investigation, the Homicide detectives learned that Ledesma was celebrating his birthday at the home when for reasons still under investigation, he attacked Holguin. Holguin then fired several shots at Ledesma.

According to Sheriff’s officials, Holguin was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for murder. There are no inmate records available for Holguin as of 11:45 p.m. on Sunday and no court dates available.
