LOS ANGELES – A man who lost both of his legs in 2012 after crashing a stolen police car into a telephone
pole in Los Angeles is now back behind bars for the murder of his boyfriend.
Nicholas James Bowling, 28 allegedly strangled his boyfriend, Frank Rogers, 48 to death while Rogers was visiting him at an Echo Park Sober Living Facility. The incident began as a domestic dispute when according to authorities, Bowling got Rogers in a choke hold ultimately leading to his death.
Bowling was arrested on Friday evening and has now been charged with the murder of Rogers. Prosecutors are requesting that bail is set at $2 million. If convicted as charged, Bowling will face up to life in prison.
