RIVERSIDE, Calif. – A 32-year-old Moreno Valley man was arrested for a stabbing and shooting at a Riverside bar on Saturday.

At around 12:11 a.m. officers responded to the location in the 3200 block of Iowa Avenue in the City of Riverside for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived they found the suspect being held down by security for the bar. The security identified the male subject as the shooter and officers took him into custody.

Through investigation, it was determined the suspect went to the front of the business attempting to go inside. The security denied him entry and the suspect began to fight the security. During the fight, the suspect produced a knife and stabbed the security guard and then stabbed a second security guard who assisted. The suspect pulled a gun out and shot at the first security guard, then again at the second security guard. Both were missed and were able to detain the suspect on the ground until officers arrived. When officers arrived, they found the knife, two firearms, a single loaded magazine, and illegal drugs.

The injured security guards sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at the scene before being transported to the hospital. Surveillance footage and other evidence was located. Hugo Cesar Garciao, was cleared medically at the hospital and subsequently booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for attempted murder, weapons violations, and narcotics violations. He is currently being held pending $1 million bail.

This investigation is still ongoing and there are no other details available at this time.
