BARSTOW – A 52-year-old motorcyclist died after a traffic collision Thursday afternoon the Barstow CHP said. At around 12:55 p.m. Barstow CHP officers were dispatched to a traffic collision on Old Highway 58 and Dobbs Road in Barstow.
CHP officials said that a 60-year-old man driving a 2004 PT Cruiser was heading westbound on Old Highway 58 when he turned to the left crossing into the eastbound lane attempting to pull onto the dirt shoulder. A motorcyclist was riding a 1985 Honda Magna motorcycle collided head-on with the PT Cruiser.
The motorcyclist was transported to Barstow Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
No other injuries were reported as a result of the collision, drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in the collision. The collision remains under investigation by the CHP.
