Motorcyclist Dies Two Days After Victorville Crash

VICTORVILLE – A motorcyclist died nearly two days following a major injury traffic collision.

The traffic collision between a Honda Civic and a Yamaha motorcycle occurred just north of Amethyst and Bear Valley Roads in the City of Victorville at around 8:23 p.m. on Sunday night. Authorities learned that the Civic was driving southbound on Amethyst Road when he attempted to turn left into the driveway of a business. While doing so, he entered the path of the motorcycle, which was traveling northbound. The two vehicles collided and the rider of the motorcycle was ejected.

The driver of the Honda was not injured, but the motorcycle rider sustained major injuries and was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. ON Tuesday, September 2017, the rider died as a result of his injuries. The roadway near the collision was closed for several hours for the investigation.

Investigators with Victorville Police Department’s MAIT Division are continuing the investigation into the cause of the collision.
