BARSTOW – A motorcyclist died after a Tuesday evening crash CHP officials said. At around 5:35 p.m. the motorcyclist identified as 62-year-old Union Grove, Alabama resident, Johnny Lester Seifer was riding southbound on the 15 freeway, approximately one mile north of Old Highway 58 Cutoff.
Barstow CHP Spokesman, Ryan Camara said that for reasons still under investigation, the rider drifted slowly across all lanes into an embankment. “As a result, the rider was ejected from the motorcycle,” said Camara. “Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the collision.”
Seifert, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics at around 5:55 p.m. The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Barstow Highway Patrol.
