RANCHO CUCAMONGA – A convicted murderer was arrested on Wednesday morning for the possession of drugs and a gun, authorities said. At around 11:50 a.m. deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Multiple Enforcement Team (MET) arrived at a home in the 7200 Block of Amethyst Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga for a parole check of 32-year-old Jesse Lugo.
Deputies attempted to make contact with Lugo, who was on parole for murder and had an outstanding warrant in the front yard of the home. Lugo ran from deputies, who pursued him taking him into custody a short time later. He was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun in his waistband and methamphetamine.
Lugo was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for possession of a loaded firearm while in possession of narcotics, felon in possession of a loaded firearm, and the parole violation. He is scheduled for a court hearing on Friday morning at the Rancho Cucamonga Superior Court.
