VICTOR VALLEY – Nearly 75 arrests have been made during two recent Desert Guardian Operations in the City of Victorville and the City of Hesperia, officials said.
This special program was made possible through funding from the Town of Apple Valley, and the Cities of Victorville, Hesperia, and Adelanto. Additional funding was allocated by San Bernardino First District Supervisor, Robert Lovingood.
The collaborative effort to make the Victor Valley streets safer was headed by SMASH Narcotics, Desert Dispatch, and High Desert Detention Center Transportation. The operations conducted in the City of Victorville yielded 39 arrests, both misdemeanor, and felony. During the operation, also recovered was one gun, 6.5 ounces of marijuana, 40 ecstasy tablets, 4.1 ounces of methamphetamine and one stolen vehicle. Nine citations were also issued during the City of Victorville operations.
During the operations in the City of Hesperia, there were 35 arrests, both misdemeanor, and felony. There were also four parole searches and ten probation/PRCS searches conducted. A search warrant was also issued where deputies located a marijuana extraction lab where there was also over an ounce of methamphetamine found. During the operations deputies recovered one stolen vehicle and two pounds of methamphetamine.
“The Mission of Operation Desert Guardian is to conduct criminal suppression operations and high visibility enforcement in the Victor Valley,” the press release stated.
