LUCERNE VALLEY – Authorities served three search warrants in three separate Lucerne Valley locations locating over 1900 plants seized. All of the locations had illegal outdoor marijuana grows in Unincorporated Lucerne Valley locations including, 36076 Valinda Road, 10629 Desert Sun Road, and 35862 Rabbit Springs Road.
Investigations headed by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department – Marijuana Enforcement Team resulted in the search warrants at the three residential properties believed to be unrelated. Between the three searches, 1900 marijuana plants were seized. At the Valinda Road location, 892 marijuana plants were seized and Michael Rios, 37, of Lucerne Valley, Courtney Rigney, 22, of Lucerne Valley, and Erasmo Reyes, 49, of Hemet. At the Desert Sun Road location 25 plants and harvested marijuana were removed and Jose Gonzalez Geronimo, 21, from Perris was arrested, cite released for violating the County’s Commercial Cannabis Activity ordinance. At the Rabbit Springs Road location, 1030 plants were seized. Quan Van Ngo, 40, of Garden Grove, Tung Ha, 39, of Santa Ana. Ngo fled from the location and was apprehended following a foot pursuit. He will also be charged with Resisting Arrest and Parole Violation.
“The County of San Bernardino has an ordinance prohibiting Commercial Cannabis Activity which includes growing marijuana outdoors. San Bernardino County Code Enforcement personnel will assist in the notifications to the owners of the properties to make them aware of the violations occurring on them,” San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials said.
