HESPERIA – Homicide Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a dispute that left one dead and three injured Sheriff’s officials said.
On Sunday, June 4, 2017, at around 3:20 a.m. deputies from the Hesperia station responded to the stabbing call. When they arrived they found several males who were suffering from stab wounds and other physical trauma.
Through investigation, it was learned that the involved parties fought hours prior to the incident. During the fight, 45-year-old Victorville resident Ryan Tremin McDowell sustained head and facial injuries. At around 3:00 a.m. Roemello Houston was arguing in front of the home and a family member came outside. The altercation became physical between two of the Houston family members. “At some point, the involved parties became involved in the second fight,” Sheriff’s officials said in a news release. “During this fight, the Houston’s were stabbed and McDowell was knocked unconscious. ”
Deputies made entry into the home and held McDowell at gunpoint and detained him without incident. Immediately, CPR was started on an 18-year-old male victim who was identified as Dalaughn Eugene Houston. CPR was continued for over 20 minutes but Dalaughn Houston who was pronounced deceased at Desert Valley Hospital at around 4:22 a.m. A landing zone was set up at Live Oak Park to transport a 21-year-old male identified as Roemello Clifton Houston to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in the City of Colton. A 16-year-old identified as Titus Anthony Houston was also transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. Roemello and Titus Houston andMcDowell are all reported to be in stable condition.
All of the involved and other witnesses who were present at the time of the incident have been interviewed. Others who were present prior to the incident or at the time of the incident have been identified and are being contacted. No arrests have been made, but the investigation is ongoing. Homicide Investigators will present the investigation to the District Attorney’s Office. The District Attorney will determine what, and against whom, charges should be filed.
