PERRIS – A May 4, 2018, Perris homicide led to the arrest of 39-year-old man authorities said. Officers from the Perris Police Department responded to a home in the 1400 block of Sweet Bay Drive in the City of Perris for the report of an assault with a deadly weapon. Officers quickly arrived and neighbors escorted them to a man later identified as Raul Carbajal, 37, lying on the floor of his open garage. It was determined that he suffered from gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers were advised by witnesses that the suspect was a male neighbor identified as Alexander Aguayo, 39, who had fled the area in his vehicle. Aguayo was located nearby and was detailed by Perris officers. Homicide detectives responded to the scene to assume the investigation. The preliminary led to the positive identification of Aguayo as the suspect involved in the shooting murder of Carbajal. Aguayo was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for murder and is being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail.
