RIVERSIDE – The heat coupled with sunlight and a debris pile ignited a fire in the 4000 block of Lyon Avenue, officials said. At around 4:45 p.m. on July 21, 2016, 11 firefighters responded to the report of a motor home on fire.
When firefighters arrived they found a debris fire next to the motor home that was spreading to the motor home.
Firefighters were quickly able to extinguish the fire , that they learned started from the sun shining directly into the rearview mirror of the motor home directing the reflection on fabric in the debris pile.
There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire. The estimated loss is unknown at this time.
