RIVERSIDE – Two Riverside homes were saved on Wednesday thanks to the quick actions of the City of Riverside Firefighters.
On Wednesday morning at around 11:25 a.m. the Riverside firefighters were dispatched to a residential

structure fire on the 3800 block of Finly Court. Upon arrival firefighters located a dryer fire on the side of the home under a covered patio. Neighbors helped to extinguish the fire with a water hose. Firefighters removed the dryer away from the home. The estimated loss was only $250 with $200,000 in property damage prevented.
On Wednesday afternoon at around 2:50 p.m. firefighters from the City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 2200 block of 9th Street. Upon arrival firefighters located a rubbish fire against the structure.Firefighters were able to quickly get the fire out without spread to the structure saving a potential loss of $150,000. The cause of the fire was determined to be smoking material not properly discarded city fire officials said.
There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire and no residents displaced in either fire.
