RIVERSIDE – A 44-year-old Riverside man was arrested for burglary and cruelty to an animal Tuesday morning. At around 7:45 a.m. officers responded to the 4300 block of Victoria Avenue regarding a burglary in progress. Officers arrived within minutes of the call to find the suspect outside of the home. Authorities said that the suspect had fresh blood on his clothing when he was found.
Through investigation, it was determined that the suspect was a neighbor who entered the victim’s garage. While in the garage he ransacked the garage and severely injured their mixed-breed dog with an unknown sharp instrument. The dog was taken to the veterinarian. The current condition of the dog is unknown at this time.
Andrew Ramirez was arrested and booked into jail for burglary and cruelty to animals.
