RIVERSIDE – At around 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday night Riverside police responded to the 3600 block of Jackson Street reference a burglary. The reporting party told dispatchers that when she arrived home a woman was found inside her home digging through her purse. When the suspect, later identified as Jackie Newton, 39, saw the resident she fled the home.
Officers located Newton near Magnolia Avenue and Van Buren Boulevard. The woman was positively identified as the burglary suspect. She was arrested and booked into jail for the burglary.
