SAN BERNARDINO – Three children ages 10, 11, and 16-years-old were removed from their San Bernardino home after deputies learned that their mother was abusing them, causing serious injuries.
On Tuesday, April 3, 2018, the deputies responded to the home in the 7100 block of Barton Street to investigate a report of ongoing child abuse. When they arrived at the home to interview the mother, Priscilla Chavez they knocked on the door, but she refused to answer. Out of fear for the children in the home being hurt or receiving similar abuse, deputies gained a search warrant.
Deputies requested the assistance of Children and Family Services (CFS) who responded to the scene. Deputies searched the home while CFS removed the children from the home. Chavez was booked into jail for suspected child abuse.
