BUTTONWILLOW, Calif. – A juvenile student is behind bars after threatening a school shooting via social media.
On Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at around 11:08 p.m., authorities received calls regarding a threat to Buttonwillow School, located on Highway 58. Investigation into the threatened school shooting led authorities to the suspect’s home. The boy was booked into Juvenile Hall, for criminal threats. During a search of the suspect’s home, no firearms were located and no other suspects are involved.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office will have additional presence at the school for their Thursday-night graduation. Anyone with information can call the Kern County Office at 661-861-3110.Soc
