MONTGOMERY, AL. – A shooting in close proximity to Alabama State University killed a female student, a man, and injured three others on Thursday night.
Montgomery Police Department officials said that the shooting was at a business, which was located near the school in the 800 block of North University Drive at around 7:15 p.m.
Justin Martin, 24, and a student, Jacquez Hall, 21, died as a result of the shooting. The university said that the event where the incident occurred was not a university event . The two others, according to the news release, were transported to the hospital by personal vehicles with life-threatening injuries, while the third injured man is expected to recover.
MPD is investigating the circumstances that led to this fatal shooting. No arrests have been made at this time, and no additional information is available for release in connection with this continuing investigation.
