WEATHERFORD, TX. – The breastfeeding in public topic is a hot one on social media nowadays. One Texas store stepped up to welcome breastfeeding women and their hungry babies.
Those choosing to breastfeed soon realize that most public places are not breastfeeding friendly. Some expect mothers to go into a public restroom in order to feed their baby. Of course, none of us want to eat inside a public bathroom, so why would we expect a baby to?
The debate goes on, some saying the breast should be completely covered, although the baby’s mouth is latched on, meaning the baby’s head would be covered too. With 100-degree temperatures, a blanket, even a light one over the baby’s head is not practical. Then there are those toddlers who pull anything off of their head, exposing mom regardless of how modest she is.
The Target Store in Weatherford, Texas posted a noteworthy sign, one that would make any mother and child pair feel welcomed to their store. The store allows nursing anywhere the mom and child would like to while they shop in their store. Those seeking a more private area to breastfeed, feed, or change a diaper can use their “Nursing Room”, which has “free goodies” according to the posted sign.
