Three men were detained on Wednesday after a misunderstanding led to the arrest of one of the men.
The San Dimas station received a call reporting a possible kidnapping on Highway 39 in San Gabriel Mountains. The reporting party said that he saw two suspects near a black BMW pointing a gun at a victim whose hands were duct taped. “Deputies responded and conducted a “high risk” traffic stop on the vehicle, where three males were detained,” said Los Angeles Sheriff’s San Dimas station officials in a written statement. “After some investigation, it was determined the men were filming a music video (with a real gun).”
One person was arrested for a misdemeanor weapons charge.
Sheriff officials said that it is best not to pretend to kidnap and duct tape your victim. Do not have the victim pretend to break free and get out of the trunk, have a shovel, or use a handgun. Also, they recommend that you book a place to film your music video and let authorities know first.
