VICTORVILLE – Three were injured after a black Ford truck exited the 15 Freeway north onto Roy Rogers Drive at a high rate of speed, slamming into a silver BMW sedan shoving it into a Motorhome then overturning Wednesday night. At around 9:38 p.m. deputies from the Victorville Station and emergency medical personnel responded just east of the Roy Rogers Drive and La Paz Drive intersection the City of Victorville. When they arrived they located the black Ford Truck and BMW sedan with Major damage and the motorhome with minor to moderate damage.
The occupants inside the truck required an extensive extrication. The first patient was removed from the vehicle at 9:50 p.m. and the second occupant was removed from the vehicle shortly after, both requiring an air ambulance. The patients were transported to the Victor Valley Fairgrounds by an AMR ambulance in preparation to be airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and Loma Linda University Medical Center. One of the two patients required RSI—rapid sequence induction, which is intubation used for a patient who may have a compromised airway or are at risk of a compromised airway.
A third patient, an occupant from the BMW sedan was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor to moderate injuries. No one in the motorhome appeared to be injured as a result of the collision. The Roy Rogers Drive was closed from La Paz Drive to Valley Center Drive while the scene is cleared and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s MAIT—Major Accident Investigation Team investigated the scene.
